Love

“As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you.  Now remain in my love … I have told you this that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete. My command is this, love each other as I have loved you.” John 15:9, ll-12

One of Jesus’ last teachings instructed the disciples to love each other and to remain full of God’s love so that His joy would be completed in them. Like the disciples, we are expected to remain in His love by loving those around us. Jesus loves us extravagantly and we should be generous in our love for others. Jesus continues his final teaching by explaining that His joy is in us as we choose to live and love through Him.

Lord God, we are grate/id for the gift of love that you lavish on us. Help us know how to love those around us. Show us any selfish way that hinders the flow of love in our lives. Thank you for your infinite love. Amen.
