Spiritus Sanctus

“Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might. Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest. “Book of Common Prayer

The above words are included in the Communion Celebration in the Anglican and Catholic traditions. This is an ancient confession of the early church based on the worship scene in Revelation 4 and 5 when the living creatures worship the Lord on His heavenly throne.

As we declare God’s holiness, it releases an attitude of worship.  If we leave our comfort zone with God to enter into this confession, our hearts will be filled with awe and wonder. Worship is a gift from God, a resource to help us be near to Him.

Please pray this prayer and fill each word with worship.

“Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might. Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.” Amen.
